The Apollo 2028 project officially commenced on January 1st, 2024, marking a significant milestone in our journey. However, the true kickoff of our endeavors took place on February 5th and 6th, 2024, during our eagerly awaited kick-off meeting. Hosted in the vibrant city of Montpellier, France, this gathering brought together all 12 partners of our esteemed consortium for two remarkably productive days.

Upon our arrival, we were graciously welcomed by the esteemed team from the University of Montpellier, along with our esteemed project coordinator, Irène Georgescu. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation and enthusiasm as we delved into discussions surrounding the intricate scientific work that lay ahead. These deliberations not only set the tone for our collaborative efforts but also provided a platform for us to forge meaningful connections within the team.

In addition to strategizing the practical aspects of our fieldwork, we dedicated valuable time to meticulously addressing ethical considerations, ensuring that our project adheres to the highest standards of integrity and responsibility.

One of the highlights of our meeting was a poignant presentation by Lionel Wilzius, the director of a medical retirement home. Mr. Wilzius shared a deeply moving testimony detailing his team's resilience and adaptability in navigating the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. His insights served as a powerful reminder of the critical importance of our mission and further fueled our collective determination to effect positive change.

As we departed Montpellier, we were filled with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment. The kick-off meeting not only solidified our resolve but also underscored the significance of the Apollo 2028 project in addressing pressing societal needs. With unwavering dedication, we are poised to embark on this transformative journey, driven by a shared vision of a brighter, healthier future.
